Hostigamientos en el Cauca

Álvaro Grijalba, gobernador encargado del Cauca, aseguró que se incrementaron los enfrentamientos entre guerrilleros y las Fuerzas Militares. El Mandatario pidió la protección de la población y reportó el desplazamiento de por lo menos 200 personas hacia el casco urbano de Suárez. “En el Consejo de Seguridad, se planearon estrategias para enfrentar la grave situación del departamento, y la Fuerza Pública está actuando contundentemente en el norte del Cauca”, explicó. Igualmente denunció que se están violando los derechos humanos y el DIH en la zona.
Mediación de la iglesia
Dirigentes políticos de Arauca, propusieron la mediación de la Iglesia Católica Colombiana para la pronta liberación de Nohora Valentina Muñoz, secuestrada desde el pasado 29 de septiembre. Older Cáceres, diputado de Arauca, señaló que le piden a la Conferencia Episcopal Colombiana y a la Comisión Nacional de Reconciliación, que hagan presencia en la región del Sarare, que cubre Saravena, Fortul, Arauquita, Tame y otras poblaciones, con el propósito de mediar en la liberación de la niña secuestrada por un grupo armado aún no precisado.
Condena a Rito Alejo
La Fiscalía pidió a la Juez Octava Especializada, la condena del general retirado Rito Alejo del Río, por el homicidio del campesino Marino López. El crimen, según la Fiscalía, fue cometido para el desplazamiento de la población de Bijao (Chocó), el 24 de febrero de 1997, época en la que se desarrollaba la denominada operación ‘Génesis’ contra las Farc. Para dicha petición, el fiscal del caso tuvo en cuenta la declaración de varios ex paramilitares, quienes aseguraron que estas acciones ilegales habrían sido apoyadas por las Fuerzas Militares, comandadas por el general del Río.
