Campaña por el humedal de Versalles

LA NACIÓN, FLORENCIA
Con el lema ‘Cuidemos nuestros humedales’, la Defensa Civil del Caquetá, realizó ayer una jornada de limpieza y sensibilización ambiental en el humedal de Versalles, en el marco del Día Mundial de los Humedales.
Los humedales son valorados como fuentes de agua, recarga de acuíferos, criaderos naturales de peces y reservorios de diversidad biológica y cultural, entre otras irremplazables funciones.
En tal sentido, la defensa civil se unió a la gran convocatoria promovida por ambientalistas y algunas instituciones, con la realización de actividades de sensibilización sobre la importancia de los humedales en la prestación de bienes y servicios ambientales y la diversidad ecológica nativa que albergan.
La gran jornada estuvo encaminada además hacia la preservación de los ecosistemas nativos, de gran presencia en todo el territorio de la ciudad, pero que por acción del hombre están en riesgo de desaparición.
